The Plus-Size Couture Fitting Guide
How to get a plus-size couture dress that actually fits — without flying to a fitting room.
Most plus-size women have been sold the same dress twice: the sample size with extra fabric panels sewn in. It does not fit, the proportion is off, and the photograph shows it. Real couture fits because it was cut from a fresh pattern to your body. Here is how that works at BLINI, virtually.
The 22-Field Size Form
BLINI's size form (also at /size-chart) captures 22 measurements: bust, waist, hip, torso length, shoulder width, sleeve length, hem, neckline depth, plus more granular numbers like under-bust, side-waist, hip-to-knee. Most people can take all 22 in 15 minutes with a soft tape measure and a friend.
The Virtual Fitting
Optional. Book at /appointments — a 30-minute video call with our atelier team to walk through every measurement and make sure nothing is off. Useful if you have not been fitted by a professional in the past five years, or if you've had body changes since.
Lead Time
Custom-size pieces ship in 2–4 weeks from Los Angeles. Express turnarounds (10–14 days) are possible for most silhouettes — email info@bliniofficial.com with your event date.
Pricing
Identical to standard size. There is no "plus tax" at BLINI. The atelier work is the same, regardless of measurement combination.
Returns
Custom-size pieces are final sale because each one is cut to your body. Standard-size in-stock pieces can be returned within 14 days.
